| Dental Veneers
A recent development of cosmetic dentistry is the usage of dental veneers. These are ultra-thin porcelain shells that are positioned on the front of a person’s teeth. Chipped, stained, or misaligned teeth can benefit from dental veneers which are also called porcelain veneers because they are primarily made of the said material.
Furthermore, dental veneers are beneficial for two good reasons. First, since porcelain is glass-like due to its ceramic nature, it is practically resistant to stains brought about by food, drinks, and smoking. People using dental veneers can be sure that little to no stains will blemish their teeth. Second, dental veneers are developed to appear and feel like real teeth, so people having veneers shall not be bothered by them, and other people will not notice the veneer’s presence.
On the other hand, there are also certain disadvantages in using dental veneers. First, these things have the tendency to shatter or be detached rather easily. Sometimes, it can even occur in a very unexpected moment. Moreover, if the veneers have been detached, there would be a possibility that the dentist could reattach them, but if they break apart, then the person has to purchase new ones and wait until the veneers are created and put into place. Second, once a person has undergone the process of having veneers, he inevitably has to have veneers at all times. This is due to the fact that during the procedure, an amount of enamel is chipped from the teeth’s front, therefore, a gap would be noticeable in the absence of veneers. |
